1. Introduction
Welcome to Unhookd. By downloading, accessing, or using our mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
Unhookd ("we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile application designed to help users manage their social media usage by locking apps by default and allowing access during scheduled windows ("the Service").
By using our Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
2. Your Account
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to maintain the security of your account.
3. Subscription and Payments
Unhookd offers both free and premium subscription options. By selecting a premium subscription, you agree to pay the subscription fees indicated.
Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the subscription term you select. Unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the current billing period, we will automatically renew your subscription.
We reserve the right to change our subscription plans or adjust pricing at any time. We will notify you before any price changes apply to you.
4. Free Trial
We may offer free trial subscriptions to new users. When a free trial period ends, your account will automatically be charged according to your subscription plan unless you cancel before the end of the trial period.
Special promotions, including lifetime free subscriptions, are subject to the specific terms provided at the time of the offer.
5. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. In certain situations, we may provide refunds at our sole discretion, such as for technical issues that significantly impact service availability.
6. Using Our Service
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair it
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Use any robot, spider, or other automated means to access the Service
- Introduce any viruses, trojan horses, or other harmful material
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Use the Service to monitor availability or functionality of any other app or service in a way that violates their terms
7. Device Permissions and Limitations
Important: Unhookd uses Apple's Screen Time API to function properly. Certain device settings or restrictions may affect the functionality of our app. You acknowledge that:
- The app requires specific permissions to monitor and manage your app usage
- Disabling these permissions will impact the functionality of the Service
- Operating system updates may affect how the Service works
- We cannot guarantee full functionality on jailbroken or modified devices
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Unhookd and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Unhookd.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Unhookd expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from using our app, such as reduced social media usage or improved productivity.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unhookd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
- Any bugs, viruses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through the Service
- Missing notifications or important updates that may occur due to app restrictions
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Unhookd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Your use of the Service may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiations. If such negotiations fail, you agree that any claim or dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Service or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Unhookd regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.
